There is something nobody really tells you about being a grown woman:
You can be responsible, experienced, strong, intelligent, and completely capable of handling your life…
…and still have absolutely no idea what you're doing next.
And whew. 😂
I think sometimes we put so much pressure on ourselves to have a plan.
The career plan.
The money plan.
The relationship plan.
The five-year plan.
The backup plan for the five-year plan.
We convince ourselves that by a certain age, we should have reached some magical point where everything finally makes sense.
But I'm learning that life doesn't really work that way.
Sometimes you can do everything you thought you were supposed to do and still find yourself standing in a place you never expected to be.
Sometimes the job changes.
The relationship ends.
The money gets funny.
The kids need you differently.
The dream you once had doesn't even fit the woman you've become.
And suddenly you're asking yourself:
Okay…now what?
Not Knowing What's Next Doesn't Mean You're Lost
I used to think progress meant knowing exactly where I was going.
Now?
I think progress sometimes looks like simply refusing to stay somewhere you know you no longer belong.
You may not know exactly what the next chapter looks like yet.
That's okay.
You don't need the entire blueprint before you take the first step.
Sometimes the next step is simply admitting:
This isn't working for me anymore.
Sometimes it's trying something new.
Sometimes it's making the phone call.
Sending the email.
Starting the business.
Applying for the opportunity.
Creating the thing that's been sitting in your head for six months.
Setting the boundary.
Walking away.
Or getting up tomorrow and trying again.
None of those things guarantee that you'll immediately know where you're headed.
But they keep you moving.
And movement matters.
Give Yourself Permission to Change the Plan
One of the hardest things about growing is realizing that you're allowed to change your mind.
You're allowed to want something different now.
You're allowed to outgrow goals you once prayed for.
You're allowed to decide that success means something completely different to you than it did five or ten years ago.
That isn't failure.
That's growth.
We spend so much time trying to remain loyal to old versions of ourselves that sometimes we don't make room for the woman we're becoming.
Maybe you once wanted the impressive title.
Now you want freedom.
Maybe you once wanted the big house.
Now you want peace.
Maybe you once wanted everybody to understand you.
Now you understand that everybody doesn't have to.
Maybe you spent years building a life that looked successful from the outside and eventually realized:
I want my life to feel good on the inside, too.
That's allowed.
You Can Build While You're Figuring It Out
This is the part I think we forget.
You don't have to figure everything out before you start building.
You can build while you're learning.
You can make money while you're figuring out your bigger vision.
You can heal while still enjoying your life.
You can be a good mother while admitting motherhood is exhausting sometimes.
You can want love while refusing to settle for the wrong kind of it.
You can build a business without knowing exactly what that business will look like five years from now.
You can be grateful for what you have while still wanting more.
Two things can be true at the same time.
Life isn't always neat.
Growth definitely isn't.
And sometimes the most important thing you can do is stop waiting for certainty before you give yourself permission to move.
Your Next Chapter Doesn't Need a Perfect Beginning
Maybe today isn't the day you completely change your life.
Maybe today is just the day you do one thing your future self will be grateful you did.
That's enough.
One decision.
One boundary.
One application.
One conversation.
One dollar saved.
One idea written down.
One hour spent building something that belongs to you.
One step.
Because a year from now, you may look back and realize that the life you're living started with something that felt incredibly small at the time.
So if you're in a season where you don't have everything figured out, don't panic.
You're not required to know the whole story.
Just pay attention to what life is teaching you.
Pay attention to what no longer fits.
Pay attention to what keeps pulling at you.
And then take the next step you can see.
You can figure out the rest along the way.
Always remember.....
Protect your life.
Guard your love.
And never play about your hustle.
